Removals Germany Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions taken by Removals Germany to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to ensure that all individuals involved in our business are treated with dignity and fairness. This statement applies to all activities undertaken by Removals Germany within Germany and in any other country where we operate or source goods and services.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Removals Germany has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, human trafficking and any practice that exploits people or deprives them of their liberty. We are committed to operating ethically and with integrity in all business relationships, implementing effective systems and controls to prevent any form of modern slavery from taking place in our own operations or our wider supply chain.
This commitment is embedded in our internal policies, employment practices, and contractual expectations with suppliers and business partners. We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and we will not knowingly work with organisations that do not share these values.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Removals Germany provides relocation, moving, storage and associated logistics services. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, warehousing, subcontracted transport services, facilities management and staffing services. Given the varied nature of these activities, we recognise that risks of modern slavery can occur at different levels of the supply chain, particularly where temporary, seasonal or manual labour is involved.
We are committed to continuously improving our understanding of these risks and to taking proportionate measures to address them, with a particular focus on sectors and regions where the risk of labour exploitation is elevated.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct due diligence on new suppliers and periodically review existing suppliers to assess potential risks relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. Our due diligence measures may include requesting information on labour practices, working conditions, recruitment processes and the use of subcontractors. We also assess the country and sector risk profile and the nature of the services being provided.
Where appropriate, we conduct or commission supplier audits, which may involve site visits, worker interviews and document reviews. These audits are designed to verify compliance with labour standards, including the prohibition of forced or compulsory labour and the protection of workers from exploitation. If a supplier is found to be in breach of our modern slavery expectations, we will require corrective action within a specified timeframe and reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship if improvements are not made.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Removals Germany encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chain. We provide internal reporting channels that allow individuals to raise issues confidentially and without fear of retaliation.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior management or through our established whistleblowing procedures. All reports are taken seriously and will be reviewed promptly and impartially. Where necessary, we will conduct investigations, engage with relevant stakeholders and take appropriate remedial action, which may include notifying authorities where required by law.
Training and Awareness
We seek to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management and operational supervision. Training and guidance are provided to help staff recognise potential indicators of exploitation, understand our zero-tolerance policy and know how to respond to concerns.
By increasing awareness, we aim to ensure that our workforce is equipped to identify and address modern slavery risks at an early stage and to support a culture where unethical practices are challenged.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our efforts to combat modern slavery rests with the senior management of Removals Germany. They are accountable for ensuring that appropriate policies, procedures and controls are in place and that these measures are reviewed regularly for effectiveness.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed on an annual basis and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our business operations, supply chain structure, risk profile and relevant legal requirements. As part of the annual review, we will assess the outcomes of our due diligence activities, audit findings, reported concerns and any corrective actions taken. We will use these insights to strengthen our approach and to set objectives for continuous improvement in preventing modern slavery.
Removals Germany remains firmly committed to upholding human rights and working collaboratively with employees, suppliers and stakeholders to eliminate modern slavery and human trafficking from all aspects of our business.
